Jake Clennell Director/Director of Photography
In 2006 Jake Clennell received the award for best documentary feature from the Edinburg Film Festival for, The Great Happiness Space. This film also garnered nominations for best feature documentary from among others, the British Independent Film Awards, the International Documentary Association, and the IFP Gotham Awards.
He has worked closely with many influential figures including; Mother Teresa, Mikhail Gorbachev, Muhammad Ali, His Holiness the Dalai Lama as well as with musicians such as David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, Mariah Carey, Tony Bennett, Celine Dion and Yo-Yo Ma.
In 2010 Jake worked with Sebastian Junger and Tim Hetherington on the feature documentary, Restrepo that was nominated for an Oscar and won Best Feature Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival.
Recently as well as his work on a variety of short form commercial projects and television series, Jake has worked on a number of feature films including, God loves Uganda with Oscar winning director Roger Williams; a long term project about politics and biology, Breast Milk, and a film about the life of the late Tim Hetherington with Sebastian Junger for HBO.
His own film now in postproduction intimately documents the life of Sri BKS Iyengar the world’s foremost living yoga teacher, widely considered to be one of the greatest and most influential Indians of the 20th century.
